Why is my phone in roaming

My phone does not connect to cell service and it sits in roaming mode. I have reset the phone andnetwork a few times but no luck.

Go into your network settings and make sure you're set to automatic in network mode, and that your APN is set properly for your provider.

What's the exact model number of your V30, and who's your carrier? Have you asked your carrier about this?

my carrier is sprint. i keep updating the PRL. when i do that, it gors to LTE briefly until i turn on the wifi then it drops to roaming.

Is the phone from Sprint also, or did you get it unlocked from somewhere else?

I bought the phone from Sprint. also when I am in a strong signal area and the WiFi is on, the LTE goes out. is that typical

If wi-fi is on and wi-fi calling is set to Preferred, then I think it's not unusual for the LTE symbol to disappear, since the phone is relying on wi-fi.

Have you spoken to Sprint about this? Ask them if they can confirm that signal in your area is strong, or if it might be poor enough that the phone starts to roam on a different network.
