why is my phone turning off by itself. ?

I have a Samsung galaxy core prime. and for past few days I don't know why but my phone randomly switches off within a few minutes of it being on. why is this so? is this cos of an app or is it bugged? and how do I know when my phone is bugged?

Do you mean that the screen switches off, or that the phone powers off?

If the phone powers off, turn it back on again, then look at Settings/Battery. Tap the graph to get to the second graph. If you see a sharp drop to zero in there, the battery has to be replaced. Do you mean that it completely powers down, or that just the screen goes to sleep? Can you try a new battery?
