Why is my Pop3 email eating away all my data pack in 3 to 4 days?

my pop3 email is eating away all my data pack in 3 to 4 days

I am using Samsung Galaxy Note 3. Monthy data pack is 3 GB or 3G. I get 400 old mails as unread in email and all my data is consumed in email in just 3-4 days. I tried formatted my hand sent couple of times. I deleted my email account and again installed but no difference.

Welcome to Android Central! Who is your email provider? Do you have to use POP3? Can you access your email from the browser, or have it import into your Gmail account?
