Re: why is my s4 saying no sim detected

Has it worked before. Have you recently changed to a new sim or a new phone. Is the phone locked to another network?

Are the carrier apn settings showing in More Networks - Mobile Networks - Access Point Names.

Go to Settings - Device - About Phone - Status, does the network and phone number show?

Try removing the sim, re-insert with the phone off, restart and wait 30 minutes.
All else fails, bring it to the carrier / network or ring them.

That's usually a sign that your EFS folder has been corrupted. Go to settings, About Phone and check your baseband version. Then go to Status and check if your phone has an IMEI number. If either of these two are missing them it's definitely your EFS folder that has been corrupted. You can Google search how to restore the EFS folder and several websites will give you instructions.
