Why is my S4 screen flashing green?

Why is my s4 screen flashing green

Sometimes when i try to turn on the screen, instead of the screen turning on it just quickly flashes green. Itll usualy work on the third try but its been getting worse. Its really bad when the phone gets hot.

Also, a new battery may be indicated.
