Why is my S6 switching to task manager and split screen?

My Galaxy S6 seems to be spazzing out no matter what I do. When I open a new app or even just stay at the home screen it switches back and forth to the "recently used apps" and "split screen" menu. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

Welcome to Android Central! Make sure nothing is touching the Recent Apps button, like part of a case. If nothing is touching it, it's possible the button itself is malfunctioning. Does this happen after a reboot, or in Safe Mode? https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-21007
