Why is my S7 signal better than my S7edge?

Hello,

I just changed from s7 to s7 edge and the signal in the s7 is better than the s7 edge. I really dunno why as both phones have the same carrier (Etisalat). The following was gathered by signal check lite app but dunno what it means:

S7: full lte bars
RSRP: -88dBm (23 asu)
RSRQ: -7 dB, SNR: 8.0 DB, CQI: 9
Provider: Etisalat (42402)
GCI: 002B7306

S7e: 2 lte bars
RSRP: - 108 dBm (3 asu)
RSRQ: -7 dB, SNR: 5.0 DB, CQI: 13
Provider: Etisalat (42402)
GCI: 002B7306

Please advise.

Yes the samsung S7 has a case on and the signal is great .. But the S7 edge is from Givori customized back.

Now i'm at work and the S7 edge signal is full lte bars as follows:
RSRP: -74 dBm (37 asu)
RSRQ: -4 dB, CQI: 15
Provider: Etisalat (42402)

I really dunno what's the issue or of i have to unlock more lte frequencies :S

Does that case have any metal? Metal in cases can sometimes interfere with signal.

What are the exact model numbers of both the S7 and S7 edge? If you got the S7 edge unlocked from somewhere besides the carrier, it's possible that it doesn't support all of the network bands.

Nope there is only leather, i checked the my phone's baseband version in sammobile site and it says brazil and poerto rico. If i just reinstall a new OS version of my country will it reset the frequency bands or something?

I'm not sure about reinstalling the firmware. What's the exact model, just so we can also do a little digging?

The model number is SM-G935FD and baseband G935FXXU1APEQ

I assume you're in the UAE, and not Egypt, right? (From what I could find, Etisalat doesn't offer LTE in Egypt.)

From what I could find, the phone ought to support the LTE bands used in the UAE, so I'm not sure why there's such a difference. You could try installing LTE Discovery on both phones, and find out if they're both using the same band or different ones.
