Why is my samsung galaxy s3 not turning on past the samsung logo?

I tried to factory reset my samsung galaxy s3 because it was having issues. The phone tried to restart itself, but it is stuck at the logo screen. The logo is flashing blue. I looked at other forums on this page and I did hold the power button & volume button at the same time, but it did not do anything. Should I take the battery out again until tomorrow to see if that will help? I need my phone for work. Can someone help me please.
