why is my samsung galaxy s5 mostly black?

a couple of hours ago i was outside playing football. my phone slipped out my pocket and fell onto the floor. my glass screen protector was damaged so i took it off but my actual screen had a few minor scracthes. half an hour later i turned my phone on and the screen was mainly black but i could still see some parts when i touch different sides of the screen. im confused cos there is only a little scratch and all that is happening.

Welcome to Android Central! The impact of the fall most likely did damage the screen. You don't necessarily have to see a crack in the screen. You'll have to get the screen replaced (and unfortunately, it won't be covered by warranty since it was due to an accidental drop).
