Why is my Samsung S5 neo 'losing' data on sd card?

Samsung s5 neo 'losing' data on sd card

Copied music files to sd card. Music played for a while then said 'sorry file type not supported'. Also when when trying to look at Sd card directories phone says they were empty (but OK on laptop).

ANSWER
Unmount the sd card and then mount card again. Card is scanned and directories are filled again.

Welcome to Android Central! Glad that worked, but be aware that it might be a symptom of impending card failure. Make sure you back up any important data on the card.
