Why is my Samsung s8 constantly updating

Why is my 18 month old Samsung s8 receiving updates every day wanting to update something or other. It's getting very annoying, can I stop it.

What kinds of update?

It's mostly the apps from play store that update regularly. You can change settings to only update when not in standby, and only wifi, or auto update always off.

I just set it to automatically update and it never bothers me. some reason 3:30 is almost always the time my phone updates apps. I see the updates downloading on the always on display
