why is my screen black and the home button doesn't work

basically my fell in the tub and as soon as i saw it fall i took it out but i had a otter box case on while i was drying it off then my phone started to slowly turn off . After i took my case off i took the SIM card out and but it in the car so that it could absorb water faster and its been 7 days and the home button doesnt work and my screen is just black but i still get notifications and messages and emails and facetime calls except i
can see it and if i press my home button it doesnt work its like its stuck
 
Welcome to Android Central! It's water damage. Chances are there's damage of multiple components, so even if you get one component replaced, there may be more that are faulty.
