AC Question

My tablet (GT-N8013) Galaxy Note 10.1 is not charging properly, when it is plugged in and I'm using it there is a red cross in the battery sign. Previously it would charge when it was turned off, however now the batter sign flashes on with a timer in the middle, fills a couple of bars of the battery as if it's charging momentarily, and then resets the charging phase again. It is not actually charging, I left it plugged in all of last night and the loop is still repeating, when I try to turn it on it dies almost instantaneously due to not power. I do not have the original charger as it was lost, I am however using an apple usb charger which has the same 5V 2amp out as per the original charger.

There's a couple of possibilities. First, the battery could be bad. Second, the charger could be bad. Lastly, the cord or micro usb port on the tablet could be bad.

Try an alternate charger/cable first. If no relief, then, try gently shifting the connector while plugged into the tablet to see if you can position it to get charging to occur.

Or, here's another possibility: Go to a local phone store and see if they have any wireless charging stations. Ask to try your tablet on one to see if it charges that way. If so...buy one! In fact, that's the first thing I purchased after getting my. Nexus 7 2013. Those micro usb ports are very fragile.
