Whatsapp Message service being killed automaticall

So, I have recently got myself the Samsung Galaxy s6 running 5.0.2. However one issue that is really annoying is that after some time(usually 10-20 minutes after my screen is turned off) the Whatsapp message service is being killed automatically.

I realized this when I woke phone up and opened the app and all my messages came flooding in. I checked application running time and it had just started running again after i opened it.

It seems to be only plaguing Whatsapp as it uses about 60-80MB Ram running in the background(largest consumer by far). Facebook app has no issues and has been running 17hrs+ but consuming much less ram even in sleep mode.

Restrict background data is off, I've cleared app cache, uninstalled, reinstalled. Still happening on 3G and Wifi.

Is this a known Lollipop memory issue waiting for a fix? or just an update needed for Whatsapp?

Thanks in advance for any answers.

Do you have any task killer, battery saver or cleaner app installed in your phone?
