Why is S Health tracking my steps?

Could not turn off steps from the app. Wouldn't allow it, so I disabled the app altogether.
 
Which Android version do you have? I'm on Verizon with 5.0.1, and can toggle the Steps off/on. Wonder if there is something different among carrier OS versions.

I also am on Verizon with same version. I got a pop up that said you can't disable this, or something to that affect.

Also, I have S Health ver. 4.1.1.0037 if that helps.

Not sure what's going on there. I have the same version. You could try to uninstall updates to S Health via Application Manager, which I think may clear data in the app (so back it up or sync to your account beforehand). After uninstalling, reboot the phone, and then try to reinstall the update.
 
I have the same issue . Won't let me toggle the steps to off. It's so lame . I'm on sprint.
