It's been a week since i signed up on the waiting list for my new EVO and i just want to know when will sprint stores have EVOs again
It's a screen shortage. They cannot get enough screens for the Evo 4g, thus, your having to wait indefinitely. Have you tried Best Buy? They have the Evo in stock much more often than the Sprint Store.
go to best buy and ask for a raincheck. they'll call you when they get one in. I did this two weeks ago and they emailed me this past wednesday letting me know it had come in. They will hold it for 14 days. I picked it up yesterday. I don't think they offer rainchecks much but it was offered to me.
oh really but how much longer to i have to wait?
and no i havent tried best buy yet
Unfortunately, probably a while. Maybe a month? I've read many articles about the Epic 4g being released for Sprint later on and the articles keep mentioning how severe the shortage is for the Evo.

so would it be wiser just to go to Best Buy and raincheck or see if they have one
Is this for you guys buying without a contract w/say Sprint I mean I upgraded and had my EVO in 2 days from Sprint... Ordered over the phone from Sprint I did renew my contract though...
Yes, but be aware that Best Buy online may have stock, but the store will not. Otherwise, yes, Best Buy will be more reliable.
The local BB here got in 91 Evo's on Friday and were sold out of them by Saturday afternoon. They are still selling like hotcakes as more people have them and show their friends, co-workers, family members, etc. Word of mouth and hands-on demos are working in Sprint's/HTC's favor now.

Yeah, they sold out incredibly fast at my local Best Buy. They received 40 Evo's but by the time my friend went to get one in the evening, they were all sold out.

One of the top Brass at HTC in North America said it wasn't actually the screens but multiple components that are needed to make the EVO as well as the Incredible and the Droid lines from Motorola, plus a lot of other high end smart phones use a lot of similar components. He also said that they completely under estimated demand by a lot which also adds to the problem... When you have a hot item and the demand is higher than expected you end up with shortages....
Also add to it the problem with Screens coming apart caused HTC to stop production and figure out what was causing the problem before sending any more out...
