Why is the fast charging not fast anymore?

I just updated my phone a few days ago to Android 7.0 and since then, the fast charging is, well...very slow. It's detected as fast charging on the phone, but it's taking forever to charge. Will this issue get rectified on the next update?

"Takes forever" is a very vague term. Could you be a bit more specific? Are you using the charging equipment that came with the phone?
