So I have (3) android tablets in the house. An old Nexus 7, a Samsung galaxy Tab S 10, and an Asus Zenpad 10. I was using the Galaxy regularly until about 2 weeks ago when I started running into internet speed issues which I've since noticed is affecting the other android tablets.
When I go into chrome (I've had the same issue on Opera) I type in a web link and the internet will hang for about 20-30 seconds before actually starting to load the page. Once
it gets going it loads at the typical speed. This affects the YouTube app as well, where it will actually tell me I've lost connection and need to reload, but as soon as I do it starts to play the video at the highest quality available. It's almost as if for the that first 20-30 seconds it can't get a connection even though it shows me connected to wifi throughout. On another note, I use plex around the house and locally I don't have any slowdowns or issues, so I can jump into and out of a plex video without any real delays.
I tried running the google speed test, and when I do I run into the same issue. It hangs for about 20-30 seconds but once the test actually starts I get the usual 15mb down and 5mb up as I do from my other devices.
This leads me into my other issues, my wife's ipad and iphone aren't having this issue. And neither is my droid moto x 2nd gen.
I've tried rebooting the router, factory resetting at least the galaxy tab to confirm it's not an app interference issue, and jumped between the 2.4 and 5ghz bands in the house. I have a D-Link AC3200 router which has been working fine ( and might still be).
I'm at a loss. Not sure what would cause this issue all of a sudden on just these three android tablets and what to do about it. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
