Why is the "text field" so small? How can I enlarge it?

Android Central Question

I keep trying to find an answer to this question but have been unable to do so. When I start to talk text a message into the "text field" on my Google Pixel, it only allows me to see the first 4 sentences. After that, they get hidden (scrolled upward). If my text is 10 sentences long, I can only see the last 4 sentences...this makes it hard to edit as you have to constantly click into the message and scroll up to re-read the text and correct errors before hitting send. How can I make the "text field" BIG on my screen so I can see all sentences as they are typed. Holding the phone horizontally does not work.

About the only way is to decompile the text app and rewrite it to make the input box expandable. Or use a different texting app. You can't change things like the size of a text box in a compiled app.

In simpler terms, what the above poster was trying to say is that this is not possible in the default text app. Texting is meant to be for short messages, not ten sentence missives :)

Your options are either to break your text into multiple messages, or try finding an alternate texting app. There are many reviewed on this and other sites

Why should it be so hard for them to include such a useful feature, which some other texting apps (like Go SMS 😜) have?

I text 10 sentences as well! Texting is good for quick response to longer messages too!
