Why is there a small red dot in the upper right of my camera icon?

I have an lg x-charge. I just did a factory reset on my phone yesterday, because someone had rooted my phone and was stealing my information. I no longer have the problem with the root, but now i have this red dot in the upper right hand corner of the camera icon. It is not the notification bubble, it is MUCH MUCH smaller, almost unrecognizable. I have started it in safe mode, and re booted the phone, but it is still there. I haven't been able to find a concise answer anywhere on the internet. Please help me.

Maybe that's what the icon is meant to look like? If your phone was rooted before, perhaps the ROM being used or the icon files were modified, and now you're just looking at what it should in the stock version.

It could be the cookie embedded in the display. A lot of trackers use this technique.
