Why is there an "M" on direct dial shortcuts...

on the home screen? Prior to today, I had made shortcuts that weren't direct dial--they were just shortcuts to people on my contacts list, which forced me to go through extra steps to call them. those shortcuts don't have an "M" overlaying the pictures of each person. Has it got anything to do with Go Launcher?

the "M" is a white M in the upper left area of the icons.

It is for mobile. There is an H for home as well.

Hmmm, I was hoping to have this so I can see what I am dialing for the person but it never comes up for me. I have go launcher EX so I thought that was why it was not happening. !?!?! Just tried again and I don't get an M or H even tho I make it direct dial. Very strange...

hmm...that's odd that yours doesn't. After reading the solution, I went ahead and placed a direct dial shortcut for a contact that has a home phone and sure enough I got an "H" over their icon. wish I could suggest something to fix yours. perhaps if you find the fix, you could let others know what you did.
