Why isn't anything showing up via the USB with Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1?

USB Recognition with samsung galaxy note 10.1

I have a Samsung galaxy note 10.1 (2013) When I connect the usb connector it recognizes the connection,but nothing shows up in MY Files.I am using Fat 32
on the various usb sticks but nothing seems to work.Help

Welcome to Android Central! Are you using an OTG adapter to connect the USB drive?

Yes I am using an OTG adapter

Are you certain the adapter is compatible with your exact model?

Yes I am sure the connector is compatible.Using ES file manager I can read SD Cards OK,but it will not read any USB stick although it recognizes
it.
