Why isn't my GS3 screen working properly?

I recently put a screen protector on my GS3 to basically prevent it from falling apart even further until I receive an upgrade. After applying the screen protector, I turned my phone back on and it was working just fine, until i tried to put in my password. The screen would illuminate, but my finger strokes and tapping wouldn't register. Is there some kind of waiting period to use my phone until the screen protector is set, perhaps due to moisture?

Is your main lcd screen cracked?
If so... The screen protector might be putting uneven pressure on it making it not register the touch.
Some companies explain that it takes up to 24 for moisture /bubbles do completely dry up/ disappear.... But in the meantime it should still be functional.

Applying on the screen protect should not affect the touch function of your phone...
There might cause more damage to your already broken phone during the installation process.
