Why isnt my Lg Stylo 4 Finger Print sensor not working

I have an LG Stylo 4 with T mobile service and I have had it for about 6 months. About 2 months ago the Finger Print sensor on the back started to stop working but restarting the device usually fixed it, but today the sensor has stopped working completely and I have tried restarting my device multiple times but it still hasn't worked. I tried going to my setting for the fingerprints but it tells me the Finger print scanner isn't working and that I need to get in contact with a costumer support . Does anyone know why this happend and if this can be fixed?

Welcome to Android Central! Does that still happen in Safe Mode? https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-37693. If yes, then the sensor may have failed. If the phone is still under warranty, contact LG. Otherwise, bring it to a repair shop if the sensor is important to you.
