Why isn't my M8 auto-focus working?

M8 Autofocus not working

Greetings,

Today for some reason I noticed autofocus stopped working. I did some searching here & this is not the blurry photo problem I've seen others report. Both the regular lens & duo lens do not appear to be scratched. I wiped them with a microfiber cloth to make sure they're both clean. I also do not hear a buzzing sound. Only objects within an inch or two of the lens will be in focus.

The phone is about 18 months old so I don't think its under warranty anymore. Any suggestions?

Ok, I know it's only been a few minutes since I posted, but I've continued to search. Someone on another web site theorized a piece of dust or something was blocking their autofocus motor. Considering that, I rapped the edge of my phone rather forcefully on a table & now it appears to be working again!

It amuses me that such a finely crafted device can still be brought back to life with a little brute force.
