Why isn't my 'Message' Notification icon appearing in the lock screen?

'Message' Notification icon not appearing in lock screen

Hi All, (please read until the end)

I've read quite a few forums and still can't find my answer anywhere.

I've recently upgraded my Galaxy S5 and am having trouble with the lock screen.

All i want is the message/whatapp and other ICONS to appear on the top left hand corner of the lock screen where it now says my carrier...

All i want is the little icons nothing else.

Welcome to Android Central!

There is no way to remove the carrier name from that spot unless you are rooted. Even then you still might not be able to see past the lock screen.
