Why isn't my S6 ringing or vibrating when I get messages?

My S6 is not ringing or vibrating when I get messages

The volume is all the way up. It rings when a call comes in but not when I get texts. No vibrating either.

Hello, Do you by any chance have an non stock texting app? Like textra or go sms? If so the ring settings in the app could be changed.

Do you have the text screen open when this happens? If the conversation is active, you will get no notification. If you put your screen to sleep or change to a different app, the notifications will work.
