Samsung Galaxy 5 not starting up

I performed a factory reset on my phone today and was 80% through downloading the first app when it suddenly crashed and then continued to do a loop of startup not getting past the "powered by android" screen. I have looked at the forums and worked out the problem and tried to do another factory reset and clear cache in safe mode followed by a reboot. This didn't fix the problem. I have downloaded ODIN onto my laptop to try and flash the firmware back onto the phone, but can't download the OS without paying some download company for the privilege of doing so.
Phone: SM-G900F
Optus G900IDVU1ANK1_OPS 4.4.2 KitKat

Can anyone help me with this?
