Why isn't the UK getting htc droid incredible? Is there a particular reason?

It is a CDMA radio phone, not GSM which is what your providers use.

If we take our Dincs over to the UK, it won't work because the carriers there use GSM mobile technology. The chips won't even pick up any wireless signal (except wifi).

Look into the HTC Desire - it's similar to the Dinc in terms of specs and is available in Europe. I think they may be coming out with a newer generatino of the Desire (Desire HD or something) soon, but it has a 4.3" screen instead of the incredible's 3.7".
