conversation theme option

I go to settings and usually there is an option for conversation theme and i could use a picture for my text message background. Why is this option taken out of the lollipop version?

Re: conversation theme option

Welcome to Android Central! It would help if you let us know which device, and which messaging app.

Yes im sorry. It is LG leon. And it i the main text message. When i had the LG optimus i would go to message then settings and the conversation theme option would show up now i cant. With the conversation theme I could put a picture as my background. my question is how come with the LG leon you cant do that. I've played with my new phone a lot and i guess that option isn't available or did I miss it??

I'm afraid I can't help you directly with that, since I can't test out an actual LG Leon. Different devices from the same manufacturer may have different versions of the Messaging app (especially if you're comparing a recent phone to a much older phone), so this option might have been removed. When you open Messages, then tap Menu>Settings, what options do you see?

By the way, the manual doesn't mention anything about a theme option: https://www.metropcs.com/content/dam/mpcs/faqsandsupport/lg/LG-Leon-LTE-UserGuide.pdf

How can i send you a picture of the settings menu in lg optimus?? It explains what im talking about. On the lg leon text message>settings>notification settings, storage, text message, multimedia message, quick message, connect to url, send message with enter key, service message and emergency alerts. But in my optimus lg phone the phone i used to have the conversation theme would be in settings. Im disappointed

this is exactly how the lg optimus message settings looks like. The lg leon doesnt have it. What can i do?

As I mentioned before, this probably has to do with the fact that the Leon is much more recent than your Optimus, and LG must have changed the Messaging app's options more recently. You may just have to look for a 3rd party messaging app that allows you to have a background theme, like chomp SMS.
