Why my Galaxy note showing a yellow sign like battery warning while charging ?

When my battery got dead .... i put on charge after an hour i see a yellow sign like battery warning and my phone not charging
I saw the other posts related to this .... As they said clean the battery terminals and port with alcohol , I am living in Pakistan Alcohol is no more available.. Is anything else which i use or any other idea for solving a problem ....

It might be safest just to try a new battery? Good luck.

Rub the terminals with a rough piece of cloth. (Ask a doctor about alcohol - if they give vaccinations, they should have denatured alcohol to prevent infection - that's the kind you use. [You don't drink it - it's poisonous.])

Considering the age of the phone, though, I'd guess that the battery was long past the point at which it should have been replaced.
