At $135 and some change, you can't go wrong. I'm buying 3...my mother, my sister, myself.

So, modz, why not at least add this tablet to the other section?

I would not buy one because:

1. No name brand item which means support might be difficult to come by.
2. Warranty situation if there is a need.(My Samsung Galaxy had issues and were resolved quickly by Samsung.)
3. Possible inferior parts causing compatibility issues. (I had a Gtab 7" and it would not connect to wireless Access points at certain places where my Galaxy have no issues so far).

We bought my 13 yr old son one for Christmas.... has worked fine, but I would like to see more support for it.

I ordered a 7022 from Toys R Us the other day...can't wait for it to get here. Capacitive screen, 1GHz processor, 159.99. I'd like to see a specific Coby forum here too, please.

well I wouldn't say a coby section per se i'd say we need a section dedicated to chinese tablets. The 7' coby you have very likely has a VIA 8650 and the 1ghz version is very likely an Infotmic x220. These types of tablets are widely bought in bulk and sold under a variety of names such as Coby and Sylvania. TechVendetta is developing a CM7 rom for the Infotmic based tablets. I am not sure about the VIA ones as I never did research into those.
edit: the 800mhz coby has a telechips processor

I bought what was supposed to be a Coby Kyros. Unfortunately, the dealer turned out to be not so reliable, I received a look a like tablet that appeared to run Coby software, so once it was up and running I kept it. It connected to wifi just fine and was able to download apps Ok. I really enjoyed it and even went so far as to buy 2 more tablets for my grandsons(different brand). A few weeks ago My tablet died. The screen just went black. It is not a battery issue and there does not seem to be a reset button. Since it is an off brand...no support and the dealer is out of business. And I am out of luck.

There are at least a hundred generic android tablets, having a sectiom for every coby, pandigital, novo etc is pointless. Often times cheaper tablets just arent worth it

Most likely no dev support either. If there were they prob woulda brought this up by now.

Sent from your mom's phone.

There is developer support on these types of tablets. The Sylvania tablet (infotmic) is getting ICS if all goes right for tech vendetta.

I have this tablet and it works well for me as an internet browser, but I don't use if for anything much more than that. I do play a few games with it and would stick to something else for business use.

The resistive touchscreen is a deal breaker. I didn't even need to look at the other specs.
