Why on-screen button on LG 5 UI is so big?

They've always done it that way... Not sure why. The buttons on my larger 6P look tiny compared.

As for modifying, most methods I know all require some level of system modification... Either root or a custom ROM.

Don't think stock LG provide a way to edit the size, but I'm sure there's something you can use out there
