Has anyone noticed the N7 comes with a 7 watt charger? I think that's strange considering my Galaxy S4 comes with a 10 watt charger and surely it's battery isn't as big as the N7.

I think you have to assume the charger is designed for the 7. A 50 watt charger would make no difference. The 7 will charge at the rate it was designed for no matter how many watts are available.
Asus sells a 10 watt charger for the Nexus 7 so I'm sure it can take a charge at 10 watts. For a tablet I think charger should be at 10 Watts.

No it's not! Watts = amps x volts so volts matter also. A 2 amp charger with only 2.5 volts is still a 5 watt charger!
My 2012 Nexus 7 came with a 10 watt charger. 5v at 2 amps. I don't know about the 2013 Nexus 7 stock charger. I guess my point is you really can't compare with other tablets. I'd go with what is supplied. You can safely increase the watts of your charger, just don't exceed the voltage required.
Did your charger come with your Nexus?
I'd like to ask other 2013 owners what the specs are on their chargers. Maybe less watts because of a better battery in the 2013.

I have many chargers ranging from 800mah to 1.5 amps....they are all 5v. I didnt realize some devices have 2.5 v chargers.
N7 2013 stock charger is 5.2V, 1.35A.
That was just an example. I don't have a 2.5 volt charger, but they are not all 5 volts. N7 is 5.2 volts.
Actually i do not see the point of the post at all.Yes, many of us has noticed it calculates to 7 watts (ExI=W) but that is a point based on the device designers choice of battery, load, safety factor, and maybe other factors..My guess is that the charger is regulated to 5.2 volts DC for a reason and I would guess it has some sort current limiting too.Again that was the designers choice..
The point is some devices can charge at a higher watt than the charger it comes with. My guess is if the Nexus 7 2012 can charge at 10 watts, then maybe the 2013 can also.
So go buy a bigger charger, they're cheap:

The point of the thread is that a member had a question and came to the forum for answers. I hope some of us helped.
You don't have to be so obtuse. I had a question and some people have answered me. That's the point of a forum.
