Why Photos and Videos Storage so high?

I'm trying to free up some space. And under the storage setting it shows that I have over 13gb of photos and videos. So I went in the gallery and deleted all the videos and pictures. But it only went down to around 12 gb. Why? Are there other photos and videos somewhere else?

the gallery keeps thumbnails of your photos and videos for fast loading when you use the app.

that library can grow pretty large in size.

using a cleaner app will take care of them.

Do you know the folder that the thumbnails are stored in? I've tried cleaners but they don't seem to be doing the trick. Can I just delete the thumbnails myself?

I found a thumbnails folder in the DCIM folder and deleted it but it made no difference. There were hardly any thumbnails in there anyway.

Any other ideas?

its system cleaner is free.

SD Maid is great. Thanks for the suggestion. It led me to discover that the culprit is a folder called Encore.

Anyone have experience with this folder filling up?

So I deleted the Encore folder and while that did free up over 10 gb it still shows about 13gb under Photos and videos. Strange.

not sure if it will fix it but try a reboot see if it refreshes that information.
