Why screen off when i dial a number

My Tecno spark 5 always goes off when I dial a number and it will not come until the person ends the call.
Any possible solution?

Do you possibly have a screen protector on it that is blocking the proximity sensor? A poorly designed case might also block it. If the proximity sensor is covered or blocked it will think the phone is held to your face for the call and turns the screen off to prevent improper touches while on the call. It's also possible the sensor has failed.
