Android Central Question

When ever i charged my phone to the fullest, in a couple of minutes the battery get drain and reaches to 95 or less then that too. Every thing on phone is too good but the battery disappoi ted a lot

The battery takes a while to be calibrated properly. Needs a few charges and discharges before it reaches optimum performance.

the issue is not how fast it gets to 95 but whether it gets you thru the day or not

Got my S10plus 3 days ago. Had it discharge down to 4% once before charging back up at full. I'm having doubts with the battery as well. It's almost like mine's dropping 1% every time I unlock the screen. Can you guys at least confirm that this is normal?

I've tried watching the battery slope while chromecasting and playing games/watching netflix/listening to spotify at the same time. Based on my observations the S10 plus can last 6~8 hrs of rigorous usage. I mean not bad right? But doesn't sound superb to me especially for the price tag.

From what I seen on the samsung reveal day was that the phone will take a while to learn your usage. I got my phone on friday launch day and charged it that night. Woke up Sat for work @ 5am, phone came off charger then, it lasted till 11:30 sunday night on one charge with 5 hours of screen on time. This morning monday the 11th, I took it off charge at 6am and its close to 9am now and I'm down to 94%. I think it will take a few days to a week or so to level out and show consistency

With pretty decent usage, I've been going from 100% charge to 17% in 26 hours. I keep the brightness at mid or lower, and AOD off. I have the screen at full resolution too. Are you using night mode or a darker theme? A bug battery drain on a super AMOLED screen is whites and bright colors. Using a darker theme can help save some battery

Also, I made the mistake of playing around with my S10+ for a while just after I got it, instead of charging it to full right away fresh from storage. Later I pumped it up to ~80% before proceeding to use it for the rest of the day. Is this a big deal?

I go from 100% to about 91% overnight after sleeping from 8 hours (S10). It's not worrisome (yet), but I don't think it's that amazing.

It might help to clarify which S10/S10 Plus variant you're using. The Exynos models in particular seem to be suffering from battery drain.

That's pretty normal. Samsung's battery standby times aren't the greatest. That's about the same amount my S10 drains overnight. I do have AOD on.

I don't have the s10 but the mate 20 X, and I lost 0 to 1 percent in span of 9 hours standby.

You might wanna force close whatapp, tinder and Samsung internet browser or any other app that might try to wake the device app, that's what I usually do.

Samsung health might be doing that too.

Just here to put in my 2 cents, I have the Galaxy S10+ snapdragon (unlocked) and battery life seems to be just ok. Like every few minutes in use I can see the percentage dropping. My GF has the S10 and it seems about the same if not worse. I would give it a full week of use though cause of battery calibration and I'm sure many of us are using our new phones much more than we normally do.

My battery life is great. Had 6 hours sot with 50 percent battery left. I was pushing 10 hours sot by the time I put it on charge.

S10 here and right now 3 hours 30 minutes with 40% left. I think I can get around 5 and half or six. Battery life is great for me.

I am seeing some decent amount of improvement in battery on my S10 after about 8-9 days.. the standby drop overnight which was about 9-10 percent has come to down to 5% and even through the day with similar usage, i am seeing an improvement. So maybe it take few days to get used to individual usage patterns ..

The first 5% on my unit dissapear faster than my morning coffee. But then things seem to even out. I would love to know why some people get such amazing stats and others are not happy.

I have said on another thread I find my S10+ ok but for the battery size I 'd describe it as below par.

Noticeably worse than other 4000mh phones like the Mate 20 pro, View 20 or Mate 20 pro and not as good as the Note 9.

I think there are some software quirks fo example I got a prompt from device manager to put an app to sleep that was allegedly using power in the background, the thing is I had already set that app to be restricted so something is not working as it should there.

Something has to be wrong with yours, maybe an app.

Below, 2 different days.

I get the same thing and thought it was just me. Seems the first 4% drop fast than evens out. my other devices stay at 100 at lot longer
