I may live in a fantasy world, but maybe Sprint ID is a step in the right direction. All manufacturers crave differentiation. Outside of strong arm tactics from Google, they will continue to junk up android. No matter how great we think stock android is, they will NEVER think of anyone on this forum as the average customer, and they are right.
Now imagine a unicorn gallops up to you and gives you a phone running a sprint id pack on top of gingerbread. But that's it. All the junk comes in the downloadable id packs for those who want them and you ignore it all by just never touching that one button. And maybe sprints upgrade path gets that much closer to Nexus-like speed.
Not that I know what I'm talking about or anything.
