Why the low sound from LG Stylo 5 headphone jack?

[Android Central Question]

Just bought an LG Stylo 5 about a week ago. The sound from the headphone jack is less than satisfying. If connecting to my car stereo, I have to turn the volume on it all the way up and still not satisfactory. Earbuds are about half the sound I had on my LG Tribute Dynasty. All settings on the phone are up all the way. Neither Boost nor LG have any answers except "send it in for two weeks." Have read up on "rooting" and editing the sound file, but a little scared of that (unless someone can provide clear instructions for a novice).

Make sure the phone volume for media is all the way up also.

Welcome to Android Central! The headphone plug is pushed all the way into the jack, correct? Sometimes, the jack can be pretty tight, which can make the user think the plug is all the way in when it actually isn't.
