Android Central Question

I got Nokia 3.4 device recently and it only has 3 options in recovery mode. Reboot system now, enter fastboot and poweroff. I just curious, why there is no "Wipe data/factory reset" option. Is it security enhancement or something? If so, how do I wipe data/reset these devices without login in?

Its usually a separate choice under Security. And with Android, unlike Apple's iOS, different companies put their own skins and control panels in place. It can be very different from one manufacturer to another.

Why you doing factory reset in recovery? You can't get into the phone? Is this your device?

I have the same problem, I have a Nokia 3.4 that I can't remember the passcode, haven't used it for a few years. It only has 3 options in recovery mode. Reboot system now, enter fastboot and poweroff.
Is it possible to reinstall Android OS or is there a way around this?

Welcome to Android Central! You have to enter the Fastboot menu first, as shown in this video:

But this typically will not get around a forgotten PIN/password/pattern, because Factory Reset Protection will still ask for it at some point.
