Why Verizon has delayed the JellyBean 4.1 ota on the vzw Galaxy Nexus

re: updates to make the phone function the way it should: how can anyone say that we're "impatient" if we've waited 10 months. I mean, come on, three Billion dollar companies involved and they are still futzing around w/the S/W after so long? Isn't the customer entitled to something more timely even if we acknowledge that most software driven devices have bugs on day 1? We're on day 270!!

As far as going to a new OS, I don't care how long it takes...my probs are w/the radios/ BT, etc.

Also, I hear so much disparity on how customers are treated regarding swapping a phone that doesnt function well. I was offered a swap for a new phone and declined because I will wait till before the 1 yr, hoping to avoid reinstalling all my apps, configuring settings etc. I read some posters saying they were not offered this.

Identify the regulatory commission in your home state that governs Communication services (telephone, cable tv, etc...) and file a complaint with them.
I couldn't find one for wireless (we have one for utilities and wired communications), so I filed a complaint with the FCC today. Thanks for the tip.

The guy who responds to emails to executives is likely a customer retention representative. Don't expect any technical or update information. He will offer options and look into things, but you have to know they aren't on the technical side.
This customer retention clerk has made a customer rejection out of me. after 13 years, I can't sand VZW any more and all because of this juvenile, a*hole, misinformed and offensive David Hughes.

I hate to say it, but if your phone is still having problems at this point, it is your phone that is faulty, and not the software. No amount of software updates is ever going to fix it.

There are way too many fully functioning phones out there for it to be a problem with software. Sammy just did a crappy job with quality control on this release... Lots of defective devices out there, but when you get a good one its an amazing device.

This. Yes there are faulty phones, and those waiting for software updates to fix issues really would do better to exchange for new hardware.

Thats because Google Now is no where near as useful on a wifi tab as it is on a cellphone...

Google Now is very dependent on location too. Travel to the SF Bay and be amazed. You'll be a little angry that all locales aren't as card-rich.

That's what I was explaining - in my state (probably most states), there isn't one for wireless. However, at least in my home state the wireless carriers will still react as if on fire if you complain about wireless service through the utilities and wired communications entity.

as an SF resident I can't really comment on other parts of the country but jelly bean on tablet and on mobile blow ICS out of the water and I would never consider any device not shipping with JB (Galaxy s3).. Google now, the notifications and project butter just take the OS to the next level.

Oh agreed. JB is more than Google Now. Far more, I just have been underwhelmed by Google Now outside of SF.

Yup. It's saved my posterior more times than I can count at this point.

Use SVTP on your phone and it is as useful

Where the ___ is JB for Verizon Galaxy Nexus

BTW, 4.1.1 is rolling out.

Verizon has posted instructions on how to update.

Welcome to Jelly Bean :).

A little advice, you will get much more accomplished with ANY customer service rep if you are friendly. Such is life.

Not true. After five replacement phones it took me to be rude for something to happen to get a new phone. I was nice as I could be before that.

So what's the word on this? Still no update for me in the DC metro area even after repeated framework cache clears. On WiFi.
