WOW ... verizon fanboys are on crack :))) when ATT anounced Inspire 4g everyone and their dog started whining how it's a castrated version of desire hd (battery being 1250 mAh) but other than that - both phones are virtually the same, except CDMA+LTE / GSM+HSPA+

Really guys??? It seems everyone hates ATT so much but when your beloved VZW stick it up your you-know-what with a $250 desrire HD (with a single core cpu mind you) when same phone on ATT is only $99 and grandfathered-in contracts will become 4g without extra charges ... I think VZW is just screwing you.

Basically - why are you not complaining? :D  They are selling you CDMA Desire HD (this phone is 6 months old already, and not even out yet) for almost the price of the XOOM... lol

Now i kinda hate ATT for what they did with android while having iphone exclusivity, and how they still did not deliver a single worthy android device, but we have 3 great 4g android phones on a horizon, one of which is in fact a dual-core (atrix) when verizon is still selling old stuff at a premium - really?

PS - besides ATT policies / customer service, I actually like it and my 3g is very fast and I get great coverage nearly everywhere I go, and I travel a lot - no complains at all.

i'd personally rather have LTE than HSPA+ anyday, and i like the kickstand idea also having a FFC, 8GB onboard storage plus the included 32GB microSD card and SLCD display while i would love a cheaper price this phone def has advantages over the desire HD which only came with 1.5GB onboard storage and from what i can find came with no microSD card which gives the thunderbolt a total of 38.5GB more stock storage

I'm pretty sure the post is an attempt for trolling, but I'll not flame and explain why I'm getting the phone.

First of all, I'm not sure about "verizon fanboy" being an accurate description of myself. I have no intention of using another network, of course... but that's because I know from previous experience and friends that where I live has many dead zones for practically all carriers around except Verizon. Anyone who has been at my house with any other carriers has to use my land line or my cell phone because they simply do not get service here. Obviously, that would not work at all for me. So, effectively, my only choice is Verizon.

That said, the Thunderbolt is the best phone to come to Verizon and will effectively be the best phone for quite awhile. Sure, there are dual core phones coming out in the next 2-3 months... but since the 2nd core will do nothing until 2.4 arrives (which could take as much as 2-3 months to actually get to phones, if previous experience holds true), those phones will be just "as good" (not quite, though... the Thunderbolt has more RAM) as the Thunderbolt for at least 6 months from now. By then, quad core phones will be on the horizon and, with a 1 year contract, will be in reach for Thunderbolt users to purchase 1H 2012.

I think most will agree that to use Verizon, you have to pay more but everyone knows that Verizon's service is consistently better. In the end, it's whether you prefer to save money or get better service. I weigh better service as being more important, but I can certainly understand that many others would rather have the cheaper alternative.

As of right now, every indication is that Verizon's 4g will cost nothing on top of the current 3g data plan. And LTE > HSPA+ by a large margin.

I had AT&T for 8 years, 3 on GSM (5 on TDMA). Dropped calls like crazy, messed up billing constantly, poor signal inside buildings and poor coverage out west and in small towns.

That's why I'd never get any phone on AT&T again.

I'd don't feel I need a dual core phone at this time. Maybe in 2 years. Coming from BlackBerry the TB is a big upgrade.

I would get a less spec phone on VZW before I got the "best" phone AT&T offers.

this dude most likely has an evo lol. there is a pretty big differ between the phones. t bolt looks better. 40gigs with the phone.....jeez enough. no. ok lte speeds, not att hspa+ which is rare in my area. huge speaker. an the cammera on the inspire sticks out like a sore thumb. why is it jolting out. also no option for extended battery with that 1250mah?

iv been on att with iphone 3g. dropped calls, no service in areas alot. verizon covers way more. if you would have said atrix then sure i would compare. but inspire is a $99 phone. t bolt is a tad bit high but while we can sign a contract for unlimited data i wont complain. but get your inspire an watch att yank unlimited away from you even if you are grandfathered

Because the alleged 4G that ATT offers has a top speed near the bottom of the LTE spectrum. When LTE rolls out fully over the next few years the speeds will be even more insane, and ATT still does not have the capital to even start building their LTE network, which is why they added backhaul to their 3G so it could meet the bare minimum standards to pass as 4G.
It still has the exact same limitation as the other phones on ATT. You will run into the same problems using it in the same places as you have now. Faster data is still useless if you cannot use it.

By all means, feel free to get your Inspire on ATT if that's what makes you happy. We will take out superior Thunderbolts on our superior network and be happy as well.

Hey Roofing Calculator needs a Hug, so everyone please give him a hug. Notice he is on a TB forum speaking about ATT. He wants to come to the best network VZ, but he doesn't know how to ask!!!! Follow after me "Can I please come to VZ and get a TB". Maybe we'll see how you act from here on!!! lol. HTC Inspire "Inspiring to become a Thunderbolt"!!!!!! Ha ha ha (When I grow up I want to be just like you a Thunderbolt!!!!!

Verizon puts more money per quarter into their network than any other carrier. You get what you pay for. I prefer to have perfect service than get dropped calls all the time. I haven't had a home phone in years and more and more people are doing this. I need a reliable carrier as well as a good device. So it may cost me more but the results are the best. I have friends on ATT, TMobile and they complain. I don't hear complaints about Sprint all that much but the later......a lot ! And those who have had their iphone and love it are coming over to Verizon which is going to make even a bigger impact. It is what it is and when you have been on Verizon as long as I have, no one can make me change my mind. Also having sold all of them, Verizon still is tops. I have the Incredible. I have had BB I love my INC and I think the Thunderbolt will be a great addition to the line-up.
I can't wait to see it. I am just glad I have great service.

I'm excited about the Thunderbolt cause It'll be my first smartphone, and I'm not about to be paying for my own cell service, for another 2 years or so (and even then I'll probably stay with verizon). And once I get it, I can stop dealing with my voyager for phone things and my iTouch for everything else. iOS is just not my thing

Sounds like you are the one with the issues...not those of us on the Verizon network who are excited about getting a cool new phone!

I was formerly with Nextel, then AT&T. AT&T was such an improvement over Nextel, I liked them when I had them. However, we still had serious dropout points throughout the Bay Area on both including frequently our home. My parents and some other family live in the 3% of the nation where AT&T does not have a signal. (According to their commercial they serve 97%, a statistic I doubt but I'll roll with it.) The AT&T signal dies 70 miles before my parents' house. Nextel was even worse, with the signal dying out about 150 miles before my parents' house. When Verizon bought the local wireless company that served their county we went to Big Red at our next contract date and have been with them since. So why Big Red? It's all about the signal and whether I can hear you now.

Why the Bolt? It's all about speed and full internet experience, after 2 years with my Storm and its really weak internet browser. According to the Verizon map, my neighbor with whom I share a back fence is in the LTE zone and I am out of it. I'm hoping the signal will stretch through my backyard and hit my house, but if not, my office is well within the 4G zone.

Verizon fan? Don't know if I'd go that far because VZW has its issues, but so long as they are the only service my other family members can get, I'll stay on the bandwagon.

I haven't had the call canceling my appointment for Monday yet at BBY. I guess I'll check on it tomorrow.

Much like most of the none city dwellers I have TERRIBLE ATT service in my area. Verizon has the best service in my area and I know alot of areas have the same issue.

Verizon has never had the best phone out first, but when they release a phone/network it works right (most of the time)

I rather pay more and get more (network and service wise)

and I think the Tbolt speaks for itself really.

PS you must have really posted on this to start trouble. this has been the least constructive post iv seen here. you are basiclt just bashing ppl that have/want VZW and the Bolt. I would like to add "shove it"

Short & sweet: It's not ALL about the hardware / monthly costs; it's about the call / network quality and service areas. I don't care to pay less for service that I then don't get good (or any) service in the areas I frequent. I've been with all major carriers for a while. VZW is simply bar none to the others for myself, and most of my family's experiences.

Roofing Calculator, you should probably stick to roofing... hater.

Sincerely,
an At&T iphone owner
