Why will my Samsung Gear S3 not charge to 100%?

[Android Central Question]

When I charge my Samsung Gear S3 using the original charging cradle and cable supplied, it charges fine until it reaches 95% and will not go any further! The watch gives 2.5 - 3 days usage with everthing turned on full brightness etc and seems fine in every other aspect! Its a really annoying little problem any suggestions to fix it? I have tried rebboting and a full restore.

Typically a battery that refuses to charge to 100% is an indication that it's starting to go bad. It is possible a bad charging cable could cause this, but that would be accompanied by slow charging in general. Since you said it charges fine until 95%, I'm thinking this isn't the case.

Do you let the watch drain to zero before charging it? That isn't a good idea, but in this case it would be handy to know if the watch shuts down before hitting zero. If it does, that would also point to the battery itself going bad. I'm not very familiar with the watches, but I'm pretty sure they are low power devices and that early shut down may not show itself as quick.

Hi Mooncatt thanks for the quck reply, I havn't tried letting the watch run right down but will and see what happens! As I said in my original post it charges fine up to 95% but no further! Watch seems to work OK, good battery life but its one of those annoying things that once you know its there you have to fix it!

My S3 indicates 100% charged only if I power it off before putting it on the cradle; otherwise, it shows in the upper 90's.

I am having the above problem also :-(
my frontier only charges to 93%.. Everything else seems to be fine I have only had the watch 2 days (eBay) so obv I can get a refund or replacement it was a
"Factory Reconditioned/Factory Refurbished" and I got it at a good price so ideally would love to solve this issue.

If anyone else has any further ideas tips experence or advice on this would be great.. (Can ya tell I don't know what to do) lol
