Why will no sim properly register on Galaxy s111 mini?

No sims will properly register on Galaxy s111 mini

I have been given a Samsung Galaxy S 111 Mini that was originally on contract that ran out months ago. I do not think it is locked as when I put my EE, Orange & T-Mobile Sim in the Galaxy it registered. I tried a call it seemed to work but the came up with call ended. The next time I tried it came up not registered. I have tried other Sims with the same result. What could be the problem.

Its OK I have found out the phone is blocked/barred.
