why windows medial player does not play videos

[Android Central Question]

hello, folks. I made some videos with my action camera . most of them is less than 1 gb. resolution is HD and fps is 60. I tried to play this video in PC but while some of them play well, windows medial player did not open the most of the videos/ there is an EM shows "windos media player encountered a problem while playing the video."

Could you please assist whether I can rescue my videos or not.

It's possible they are in a format Windows Media Player can't decode. My favorite app (on Windows and Mac for those reading) for these occasions is VLC from VLC: Official site - Free multimedia solutions for all OS! - VideoLAN There is even an Android version in the Google Play Store. VLC will open almost anything so it's worth a try for the price (FREE!).
