Why wont Exchange ActiveSync account sync with Calendar on Sony Xperia Z3 after Lollipop update?

A

AC Question

I have been using the Xperia Z3 for sometime now, it came with 4.4.4 KitKat and worked brilliantly with emails, all of my email accounts were synced to it, including my work emails which are is an Exchange account.

After updating to 5.0 Lollipop, all of my emails are still there however my work email no longer shows on my Calendar and does not sync with it, nor can I add things to it.

I have deleted my work email account from the phone and put it back on again but it seems it no longer syncs to the calendar even though the option is clearly selected in the mail options.

Anyone else having this problem / found a fix? Its a real annoyance as I rely heavily on my phone for work and not being able to see my calendar is kind of bad since I need to know where and when meetings are, and to be able to edit my calendar so my office knows where I am!

It could be an AS policy set by your company, not sure if this is Lollipop exclusive or Sony Xperia issue. Do either of you know other android users at work that have different devices and are they having the same issues or just your Xperia devices?

Samsung Galaxy 4 and Touchdown having the same problem.
I've been working with our IT dept and Touchdown/Symantec tech support. They concur that lollipop is no longer compatible with certificates and cyphers on Exchange 2003. There is no way to update the certs and cyphers on 03. This is probably the case with ActiveSync and other apps for Exchange. Touchdown issued one beta apx to me that didn't work but they are on it. The apx needs to work around the certificate problem. An Outlook app called Nine claims to have made a work around for the certificate issue. Look it up on the Play Store. $10

I had the same problem, and tried to search online for solutions but failed to get one. However, my brother happens to have the same exact problem about the calendar but not because of the Lollipop update (he's still on Jellybean). But what he did that resolved the problem is, he downloaded "Google Calendar" from Playstore and used it. It seems that Sony (Lollipop), in my theory, has made their own calendar which made it impossible to be synced with our gmail account.

It worked for me, hope it does for you guys too. :D
