Why won't I receive SMS messages on my blu advanced 4.0 phone

I've not been able to receive smsbmessages for the past 48 hours. I've tried rebooting the device, powering off the device and clearing the cache data.

Are you able to make and receive calls? Have you already asked your carrier about this? If you have a plan with limited texts/month, maybe you're exceeded your limit?
