Bluetooth won't turn on on S4

I have a refurbished T-Mobile Galaxy S4 android version 4.4.4. I've had it for a few months and never used the bluetooth. Now I have a car with a BT stereo and my bluetooth doesn't work. When I press the the switch that currently says "OFF" it says "turning on bluetooth" for about 5 seconds then just goes back to off. Been trying for about 2 days now, and twice it actually turned on, connected with my stereo, then just turned off again a few minutes later. I've tried doing a battery pull and booting in safe mode to no avail. The WiFi works fine. I'm at a loss, and I really don't want to have to do a factory reset or root my phone. Any ideas? Welcome to Android Central! If it isn't working in Safe Mode, it's either a hardware problem that requires a visit to the repair shop, or a firmware problem. For the latter, you could try flashing the stock firmware via Odin: http://forums.androidcentral.com/am...w-flash-stock-rom-via-odin-new-interface.html.
