AC Question

Galaxy S3 (running 4.4.2 I believe) suddenly won't recognize the charger.

BUT, take the battery out, put it back in, and it charges fine. And the battery holds the charge well.
Have used different charger and different cable, same results. It is my daughter's phone 900 miles away, so I'm hesitant to say master reset unless I'm pretty sure that will fix it. Any ideas on this?

Wipe the battery contacts and the contacts in the phone that connect to them with a swab wet with alcohol. If that fixes it even temporarily, use a slightly rougher cloth, but gently. There could be an oxide build-up on one of the contacts. (Alcohol isn't water, it won't wet the phone - if anything it'll absorb any moisture already there.)
