why won't my galaxy s3 turn on?

It turns on and I can hear it while it turns on but the screen doesn't turn on. Therefore it looks like its off but I can hear the android sound when it comes on. Is there anything I could do? And what happened?

Did you drop it or anything like that?
It sounds like the digitizer or the screen physical connection is damaged.
